TODO list on Project side for all teams
Now that we have a solution for the project, let's think deeper on the following before next meeting. Please bring your laptop (if possible) for group research next meeting.
1. What kind of packaging our "Recycle Me" logo should apply?
2. What are the recyclable packaging that we are thinking about?
3. Any ideas or proposals for the logo image?
4. Do you have any idea how to present this solution? A play, show or movie?

This meeting we basically just focused on the project.
* We met our fll mentor, adam.
* We did some research, here is the link.
(this is only accessible by me, my school account, Matthew, and Andy)
* We decide on the solution, (more or less) which is: put a logo/motto on food/drink product packaging, (not just the small one, one the bottom, and on all of the packaging) and perhaps put recycling ads for the food packaging
* We had ice cream!

Meeting Minutes 9/20/2015
Robot Game:
- We decided to work on the missions that uses motor first (Mission 2 and Mission 9)
- We decided to work on Mission 9 first to get an easy start
- We discussed criteria that a base must have:
Accurate
Tops must fit on base easily
Motors must be able to connect to base easily
Must be fitting size
Must be heavy enough
Wire neatly coiled
Sensors should be added on the base (maximum 4 sensors)
Sensors and motors must be well protected
Base needs to be made of square or rectangular shapes
Base has to be compact
Project:
- We narrowed down to 3 problems
Paint Disposal
Food Waste
- For packaging problem, we have reached agreement that 4 solutions are worth to explore further:
Use recyclable material for packaging
Use reusable packaging
Use less packaging
- We have agreed while we think about, discuss or screen solutions, we should use the following criteria:
Creative
Feasible
Low Cost
Homework:
- Continue to find solutions for these problems: Packaging, Paint Disposal, Food Waste, please keep in mind the above 4 criteria.
- If ready, please either email it to the group or send it to WeChat.
- Think about the design of the base, if possible bring the prototype for the next meeting
Next meeting:
- We have decided to split into 2 groups for efficiency
Group A (Sammy, William, Matthew), Group B (Chungtai, Andy, Aiden)
- For next meeting, Group A will focus on Project and Group B will focus on Robot Design. we will switch every week or every 2 meet ups.
- On project side, finalize 1 solution for 1 problem
- On robot side, start building and programming the base

Robot Building Resources and Assignment
We have spent some time to test different robot designs. I found there are many resources about what other people have learned. I expect all kids to watch attached videos and documents before our Sunday meeting. Some watch lists have many contents, please just focus on videos about robot base building. We plan to build two robot bases on Sunday.

Summary of today’s meeting
- We made ideas
- We made the criteria
- We voted and ‘graded’ the topics
- We got 5 topics
Initial problems we have identified
1. lots of people throw recycling into the garbage
2. lots of people throw food into the garbage, not making it into compost
3. recycling paper depletes trees
4. mrfs have bad work environments and low wages.
5. How to get more efficient and precise sorting machines so we can have 99 or more % pure material to sell to people who remake recycled materials.
6. How to get people to buy used things rather than buy new, since people need material from nature, then we will keep on using the Earth’s resources. If we reuse, than we can save Earth’s resources.
7. How to get people to use hydroelectricity, solar electricity, and wind electricity (They’re better for the environment).
8. getting people to produce less trash
9. getting more people to recycle
10. people are making too many non-recyclable material.
11. hybrids cause contamination if put in just one place
12. many recycling facilities only collect certain types of plastics
13. plastic is not biodegradable, which causes problems for animals
14. leftover paint cannot be easily disposed
15. trash cans are too heavy to move, especially in harsh weather.
